State Jobless Numbers Show Slight Decrease

The unemployment figures in North Carolina showed a tenth of one percent de-crease for the month of August, while nationwide, unemployment fell 1.2 percent compared to the August 2014 figures.

The state’s jobless percentage for August 2015 stood at 5.9 percent.

Nationwide, people looking for work in August totaled 5.1 percent of the labor force.

The improvement in the employment situation in the state was led by the construction industry followed by an increase of jobs in the leisure and hospitality category.

Manufacturing jobs and workers in governmental positions lost ground in August of this year as jobs in these two industries decreased.
