Sign Language, Thursdays, Sept. 10-Oct. 29, 6-9 p.m. in A-Building, room 212, $70 registration fee. An overview of sign language, its basic vocabulary, structure, syntax and grammar. Students will focus on mastering finger- spelling, numbers, colors, facial grammar and sentence structure. They will learn conversational/cultural behaviors necessary to hold a beginning-level conversation in sign language with deaf/ hard-of-hearing users of the language. Introductory information about deaf culture will also be presented.

Pop-Up Catering, Tuesdays, Sept. 15-Nov. 3, 6-9 p.m. in T-Building, room 120 , $70 registration fee. Instructor Chas Mullins will introduce the concepts of a pop-up restaurant and step you through a guide to launching a pop-up restaurant, which is a culinary event that springs up temporarily. The goal is to test an idea or concept without the risk of starting a traditional restaurant.

A pop-up restaurant offers many of the same benefits as a traditional brick and mortar restaurant without the high cost of opening.

Bartending, Mondays, Sept. 21-Nov. 9, 6-9 p.m. in T-Building, room 118, $70 registration fee. Topics include bar terms, bar setup, glassware, tools, recipes, wine and champagne service, sanitation, bar management, ABC laws and customer services.

Basic Bookkeeping, Mondays, Sept. 21-Nov. 9, 6-9 p.m. in A-Building, room 229, $70 registration fee. Financial assistance may be available through N.C. Tobacco Trust Fund Commission. To see if you qualify, call (910) 642-7141 ext. 261.
